Mohanjeet Kalsi is a Mumbai-based filmmaker, author, and storyteller with a distinct focus on humanitarian and impact-driven cinema. Her work is defined by its ability to capture raw, emotionally resonant narratives that explore social realities, amplify unsung voices, and reflect stories of resilience with authenticity and depth.

With over a decade of experience in the film industry, she has worked extensively as an Assistant Director across a range of productions, building strong on-ground expertise in storytelling and filmmaking. This foundation informs her independent work as a writer and director, enabling her to create stories that are both technically refined and emotionally compelling.

Her notable work includes the award-winning Hindi short film “The Blue Helmet,” ranked among the Best Short Films of 2020. The film explores themes of grief, maternal love, and road safety, and has been showcased at multiple international film festivals, earning critical recognition and accolades.

Her documentary, “For the Love of Dogs,” is a moving portrayal of one man’s extraordinary mission to protect stray dogs during India’s harsh winters. Her current passion project, “Muntazir – The Awaiting,” is a deeply personal and evocative film currently in development.
